Murchison Falls National Park, established in 1929, is Uganda’s first and oldest national park. The park hosts an incredible diversity of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and Nile crocodiles, as well as over 450 bird species.
Located in northwestern Uganda, the park is home to the iconic Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile dramatically squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging 43 meters into the river below. This powerfall waterfall is considered one of the most spectacular sights in Africa, and a visit to the top of othe falls will be your first introduction to the mighty power of these waters as they roar over the rocks.
