  • Pian Upe and Sipi falls hike tour leads you to the serene wilderness of North-eastern Uganda to explore Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve and the verdant hills of Eastern Uganda to hike the beautiful Sipi Falls.
  • Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve is located in the north-eastern part of Uganda and covers an area of 2275 square kilometres (227500 hectares/878 square miles), making it the second-largest Protected Area in the country after Murchison Falls National Park that extends for 384000 hectares.
  • The Sipi falls are comprised of three breath-taking waterfalls on the foothills of Mount Elgon in Kapchorwa district (in Eastern Uganda). The main and highest of the three waterfalls fall at a height of 100 meters and it’s bigger than the other two that measure 75 and 85 meters.
  • Kidepo valley national park is 1,442 square kilometers (557sq mi). it is located in the Kaabong district, in the Karamoja region in northeast Uganda. Kidepo is rugged savannah dominated by the 2,750 meters (9,020 ft) Mount Morungole and Transected by the Kidepo and Narus rivers.

Kidepo valley national park is known for birding activity with more than 450 species which include, dark chanting goshawk, Kori bustard, little bee eater, red and yellow Barbet among others. You will also see some wild animals like elephants, zebra, bush pigs, giraffes, eland, Jackson’s hartebeest among others. You will visit the Karamajong people and experience their culture with the way of living.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1. Travel from Kampala to Kapchorwa and evening cultural tour.

   Early in the morning after your breakfast your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala for an exciting journey to sipi falls located in the Eastern part of Uganda. It will take you 4hrs and 30 minutes to reach your final destination. On your way you will have a stopover in Mbale city for lunch then proceed to Sipi in Kapchorwa upon arrival you will check in at the lodge for relaxation and later in the evening you will go for a cultural tour where you will meet the sabiny and experience their way of living through story telling. The sabiny were known as hunters and agriculturists. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2. Hiking Sipi falls and Transfer to Pian Upe.

 In the morning after breakfast, your guide will take you to hike the top of sipi falls. The hike distance is easy to complete as everyone is allowed to walk at their own pace. The waterfalls provide soothing sights and sounds that help you relax and reduce stress. After that enjoyable experience you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation later in the afternoon, you will transfer to pian upe wildlife reserve. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game Drive and Cultural Visits

Today after breakfast, you will move out for a cultural and wildlife experience. Pian Upe is one of the less visited wildlife reserves. you will go for a guided morning game drive. Look out for the early risers including the hunting cheetahs. Other animals to keep your eyes on are the jackals, roan antelopes, zebras, buffaloes, dik dik, hyenas, baboons, patas monkeys and many others. You will have lunch. relax and later go for a cultural community visit to learn about the ways of the people that live here. You will learn about the traditional marriages and weddings through performances, traditional dances and how they rare cattle, a very important activity to them. In the evening, you will return to the camp area, sit around the campfire.

Day 4. Transfer to Kidepo Valley national park.

Early in the morning after breakfast at around 8: 30 am your guide will pick you up from your lodge and you will head directly to Kidepo valley national park. This journey will take you approximately 06hrs. You will pass districts like Moroto, Kotido and finally kaboong district where Kidepo valley national park is located. You will have your packed lunch en route to kidepo arriving in the evening. You will check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5. Early morning game drive and cultural tour.

Very early in the morning at 6:00am after taking your preferred breakfast, you will head out into the savannah plains for a game drive where you will encounter mammals like cheetahs, ostriches, elephants, elands, zebras among others while in your customized safari vehicle. you will drive along the different tracks to spot the wildlife, Morning game drives in kidepo valley national parks lasts up to 5hrs. you can enjoy your packed snack and continue with the game drive after you will head back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. after lunch your guide will pick you and take you to meet the Karamojong people, here you will experience there way of living, cultural practices like dances, their staple foods and storytelling. You will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6. Transfer to Murchison falls national park

In the morning after breakfast at around 7:00 am, you will check out from the lodge and your guide will pick you up and embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park via Kitgum district and Gulu district with stop over lunch in Gulu arriving in the late evening. check into your lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 7: Morning game drive and boat cruise in the afternoon

Today we set off very early in the morning in search for wildlife especially the cats that are more active at this time. Animals to be seen include; The Jackson heart beasts, Giraffes, Oribi, Uganda Kob, Water buck, Buffaloes and predators like Lions, Leopard, Hyenas, Jackals not forgetting the big giants like Elephants and Rothschild giraffe.

After the morning game drive, we return to the lodge for lunch and boat ride in the afternoon. Aquatic animals and birds are seen during this boat ride, to mention but a few; Hippopotamus, Nile crocodiles, African fish eagles, Bee eaters, African common darter, King fisher’s and lots more.  Sail back and meet your guide to transfer back to the lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Kampala

In the morning after breakfast, at around 8:00 am you will check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala. Visit the top of the Murchison falls as you exit the park, you will then drive to exit the park and head back to Kampala with lunch break along the way.

You will reach Kampala city early afternoon, then your tour guide will drop you to your hotel or will transfer you to Entebbe international airport.
