Safari highlights:

  • Day 1: Depart to Lake Mburo National Park and Evening (cycling or walking safari)
  • Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise
  • Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park (Whispers of the wild).

You will be picked by our safari driver guide from your hotel/residence and transfer to Lake Mburo national park.

Lake Mburo National Park is located conveniently close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks which date back more than 500 million years. It’s a home to 350 bird species as well as zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi and reedbuck.

 On arriving, check in to your lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight.

  • Late Afternoon, Head out for one of the activities (cycling or walking) safari in the park.

The walking safaris within the park are managed and guided by Uganda Wildlife Authority where you will be allocated by one of the park rangers to take you on the walk in the park; the walk takes you approximately 2 hours in various parts of the park where you will have a chance to see various wildlife and birds. 

The cycling safaris in Lake Mburo national are also guided safaris which take about 1hr to 2 hours’ time. The cycling will give you a chance to ride among the zebras in the open savannah of the park.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat cruise

Have breakfast and set out for the early morning game drive in Lake mburo national park. You will encounter animals like zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi and reedbuck.

  • Later return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon Boat cruise

The cruise on the lake equally guarantees one a view of the amazing flora and fauna at the national park alongside wildlife such as crocodiles, hippos and bird species such as African fish eagles, pelican, king fishers, herons, cormorants, rare African fin foot and hammer kops.

 Have a short evening game drive while returning to the lodge. For dinner and early sleep.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kampala

Morning Breakfast and Transfer back to Kampala with Lunch en route (Local food Buffet)

  • A brief stopover at the Equator in kayabwe and craft shops to shop some crafts for people back home.
